Battambang S’art Street Art Festival
Colorfoul Cultures

This mural was created as part of the Battambang Start Festival, a street art festival bringing together twelve international artists. The theme of the competition was “Colorful Cultures”, and I was honored to finish in second place.

For this project, I chose to celebrate both my Spanish roots and my life in Cambodia — a country that has become my home and holds a very special place in my heart.

The central figure is a flamenco dancer, inspired by Spanish culture and tradition. Her movement, the lace of flamenco shawls, and the carnations worn in her hair are all references to flamenco — a dance that is deeply personal to me, as my mother is a flamenco dancer and teacher.

These elements meet Cambodian symbols and landscapes: the krama pattern in the background, sugar palm trees, the hornbill wearing an apsara-inspired headdress, and native flowers such as romdoul and frangipani. Together, they form a visual dialogue between cultures, memories, and places.

This mural is a celebration of identity, heritage, and the beauty of living between cultures — where colors, stories, and traditions naturally blend.
